I wanted to keep with their interstellar theme, focusing on making this other-worldy type of theme, really not holding back when it came to sharp color choice and this feeling of something more being out there. Animated with Adobe Photoshop.
STARSET is a rock band that was established in 2013 by Dustin Bates. The band thrives on their brand of interstellar themes and albums with continuous storylines. Their album VESSELS, was released in early 2017.

Country Music singer Cole Swindell debuted in 2013, opening for other country music singers such as Dierks Bentley, Thomas Rhett, and Craig Campbell.
Working with doing an album cover that broke the bounds of usual country albums - i.e. the artists' face and a slap of text - was part of the challenge, but I wanted to step away from the conventional usage of the genres take on album covers! I wanted to focus on the album name and the rather somber vibe of the song that was part of the album.

Bebas Neue was used for both the title of the album and also the artist name; it fits with STARSET's clean and sharp feel, while also allowing for the context of the images to be able to reflect an other-worldly feel.
I chose Bebas Neue as a way to integrate STARSET'S current brand, as well as give a fresh new cleanness to the style of the album cover; the thick and boldness of the regular type really pops and gives that overbearing presence

Full of both warm and cool tones, I wanted this color palette to be filled with a sense of duality; one side light and full of warm oranges and peaches to represent the sun and twilight / dawn, and to have the other side be cool blues, representing the nighttime and to showcase a darkness, both which fill around the central orb in the sky and compliment one another by blending into the other in the central point of the design.

FONTS!:
Amalfi Coast was used as an accent font to the title of the album; this cursive-like script font really gives the swoosh of motion I wished to have for the design.
Part of it feels handwritten, and I feel like that really gives the Love Letter-esque feeling that country music can portray sometimes, especially this album by Cole Swindell; a soliloquy of love.
Loos in the medium thickness (regular, medium), was used for the remainder of the title, the main type; to work cohesively with Amalfi Coast, I wanted a sans-serif font that really was simple, yet when held beside the script font, felt like it held the same weight.
I wanted to avoid the cliche font typically used in country music albums, the ones with the gritty textures, and to really give a simplistic choice to the main header of the font, letting the accent font have the stylistic choice rather than vice versa.

For this album, I wanted to strictly use cool and dark tones, giving that sense of heartbreak that the album exudes in the songs; I wanted to give the somber color palette some blues as well as soft cool grays to really expand upon the dismal feeling of lost love.
